Sports Box Etiquette and Rules

The sports boxes are not staffed facilities. Please be respectful to all users. If these rules aren't followed, the sport boxes may be closed. To report any issues, please contact us.

When all courts are full and players are waiting, players will rotate after a game is played or 15 minutes of practice.

  • A game is to 11 points (win by 2 points). Players must leave the court after each game.

  • If a group doesn't have enough players for a full game, they can use up to 15 minutes for drills, warm-ups or singles play before vacating the court.

Please bring your own equipment and portable pickleball nets. Burnaby Residents can access pickleball nets at all 3 locations. Register on WebReg for access.

During specific activity drop-in hours, the listed activity has priority use of the box.

  • Other activities must vacate the box during lacrosse drop-in, due to safety concerns.

  • During public drop-in hours, if more than 3 courts are being used for pickleball and players of another sport arrive, divide the courts as below:

Jack Crosby:

  • Keep other sport play to the north side of the box.

  • Keep pickleball play to the 3 south courts.

  • Pickleball players on the north side courts will be given 15 minutes to finish playing and remove equipment from the north side of the box.

Sohen Gill:

  • Keep other sport play to the west side of the box.

  • Keep pickleball play to the 3 east courts.

  • Pickleball players on the west courts will be given 15 minutes to finish playing and remove equipment from the west side of the box.

  • The pickleball net lockbox will be available from November 1 to April 31. During the warmer weather, the lockbox will move to the outdoor tennis courts at Confederation Park.
